Valentine's Day 2016

I can't believe this is the second Valentine's Day I've spent with my boyfriend, David. It's just like how everyone describes it - time flies when you're in love.. For this special occasion, David had reserved a table for two at Liberte in Pacific Place.

As I was getting ready for the special day, David surprised me with this beautiful, lovely bouquet of flowers from Studio Jiro. The soft color palette of the bouquet complemented with the burlap wrap was plainly breathtaking! Before we go, we decided to stay home for a bit to take some shots since the weather was nice and clear.

After we've done taking photographs, we went to Liberte to have our dinner. As we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed with a romantic instrumental song playing at the background. The restaurant was dim, candles were lit on each table, and flower petals were scattered at some areas to make it even more romantic! The restaurant ambiance without any doubt fit the occasion precisely.

Liberte offered a 3-course Valentine's Day meal, in which I would've loved to try if I could fit them in my belly. So since I'm absolutely sure that I would've asked for David's help to finish my meal (as usual) if we were to order the 3-course meal for us each, we decided to go for a la carte instead.

To start with, we were served with a complementary basket of fresh French loaf as well as crunchy breadsticks that came along with a tomato dip. Perfect to open up our appetite!

For beverages, I settled for a bottle of mineral water whereas David ordered the Lychee Crush. The Lychee Crush is a mixture of muddled lychee fruit, hazelnut syrup, and apple juice. It was sufficiently sweet yet a tad sour that makes it refreshing!

As for the main course, I ordered their Salmon while David went for their Fillet Mignon. The salmon was pan seared and it came along with crispy potato prawn croquettes as well as fresh salad. The salmon was perfectly cooked! With its skin remained crunchy, the salmon meat was soft, delicately scented, and melts slightly inside the mouth!

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Fillet Mignon. David asked for the meat to be cooked to medium, but it seemed to be slightly overcooked to medium-well. It wasn't that bad, but the meat was a little dry. However, the barbecue sauce, mashed potatoes, and sauteed mushrooms that came along with it were delicious!

Now we move on to the most awaited part.. Dessert! David and I picked their Chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The chocolate mousse was moist, rich, and it melted right away inside the mouth! It was served together with raspberry sauce and topped with a raspberry fruit as well as a frosted cashew nut. The chocolate mousse was heavenly! It is definitely one of the best desserts we've had so far!

To top off everything, there was a live performance, where a violinist gracefully played love songs throughout the evening. All the staff were friendly and courteous too. Not to forget, there was also a photographer taking photos of all the couples who were having dinner at the restaurant with the purpose of sending the pictures to the respective couple at the end of the day.

Everything considered, it was a genuinely lovely day!
